    Responsibilities

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Maintains complete awareness of scheduled group activities, hotel facilities and services, hours of operation, facility layout, fire and emergency plans.
    • Patrols the interior and exterior of the hotel to identify potential security and safety risks.
    • Ensures access into secured hotel areas are properly authorized, monitored, and documented.
    • Writes incident and injury reports, assisting sick and injured employees and guests.
    • Performs protective and enforcement functions in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
    • Handles emergencies, disturbances, and threats to safety in an effective and tactful manner.
    • Immediately responds to emergency conditions such as fire, safety hazards, and threats in a calm, rational and professional manner.
    • Answers security telephone/radio calls and responds in a timely manner based on priority.
    • Maintains "Lost and Found" logs, inquiries, and daily administrative activities.
    • Administers all package handling that enters and leaves the hotel.
    • Checks and reports any pertinent information from each shift.
    • Maintains a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and employees.
    • Monitors surveillance cameras as assigned.
    • Provides interdepartmental assistance upon request, including security for the Tiki bar as needed.
    • May work in conjunction with outside law enforcement agencies during emergency situations.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

    • Previous hotel security experience or experience in a similar position preferred
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Knowledge and ability to fix door locks and safes preferred
    • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office required
    • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills required
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed

     

    Physical Qualifications:

    • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues (telephone, radio)
